The Monastery dates back to when it was founded by Saint Neophytos. This monastery includes the Encleistra of Agios Neophytos, the modern monastery of Agios Neophytos, and the Agios Neophytos Ecclesiastical Museum.
Southern Cyprus is home to many fascinating historical and spiritual sites and Agios Neophytos is just one of them. The Encleistra and Saint Neophytos: a profusely illustrated study about a) the "famous" Encleistra of Saint Neophytos, b) the big church dedicated to his memory, c) his life and his writings, and d) the history of his monastery.
Life. Neophytos was born in the mountain village of Kato Drys near Pano Lefkara, Cyprus, to farming parents Athanasios and Eudoxia, one of eight children.
